Mind Without Fear

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action--
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

  1. Hi, I accidentally bumped into your blog. Just wanted to let you know that I have read Rabindranath in the original and I consider that as one of the most fortunate things in my life. Here is another quote from him - not from Geetanjali:
    "One again, I wake up when the night has waned,
    The world has opened its petals to me once more,
    And this is an endless wonder"

    Hope you like it . If you want I can post the whole poem also.

    Hope you write the blog more often .....
